This is an original Masonic Knights Templar Sword stamped by manufacturer M.C. Lilley on the ricasso. The opposite side is stamped with a knight’s head, which is Kirschbaum’s mark. I believe that narrows the date range to 1883-1893. Double-marked Lilley swords with the Kirschbaum stamp are rare, only manufactured for a short period of time. This features original chain attached to the Knight’s head pommel to the guard. The cross guard has an oval shield in the center with the Cross and Crown symbol with motto IN HOC SIGNO VINCES. Beautiful etchings on blade with the original owner’s name, “J.W. Satterfield”. No scabbard with the sword. Blade length 28 inches, overall length 35 1/4 inches.
