The Pattern 1796 Light Cavalry Sabre sword was used primarily by British Light Dragoons and hussars, and King’s German Legion light cavalry during the Napoleonic Wars. The blade is remembered today as one of the best of its time and has been described as the finest cutting sword ever manufactured in quantity.

Condition: This particular saber is in fair condition.  It is missing the knuckle-guard and there is no scabbard. The guard and wooden handle are loose on the tang.  The blade has a few heavy corroded spots on it as shown in the photos, along with a few battle nicks. Tip is in good condition.
